HaaretzVirginia pedophile and ex-con Nathan Larson supports the incel movement, loves Hitler – and also wrote the article on online pedophile activism. Now he's running for public office. ... After being blocked from the open encyclopedia in 2008, Larson migrated his nefarious online activities to alternative websites based on the wiki technology but not officially endorsed by the Wikimedia foundation, which oversees Wikipedia. There he followed a similar pattern of posting offensive (and worse) subject matter, and was also banned. Larson may have even been the first person ever banned from RationalWiki – the unsanctioned libertarian wiki site, noted for being even more unregulated than Wikipedia.

This guy is clearly suffering from a mental condition. That seems to be a prerequisite for political aspirations these days.
Globally banned after 7 years.

I think the people who don't like it are mostly those who are either obsessive David Gerard haters (but those grudges are all nearing decadal timescales now), or, more likely these days, just sore that they don't have one of their own.

Re: Banned Wikipedia editor runs for Congress
Sure, but the problem is, you can't look at it that way anymore. First of all, we know (based on what we saw/heard during and after Dave Brat's win over Eric Cantor) that there are right-wing folks in VA who will simply vote for the most anti-immigrant candidate on the ballot, no matter what else that candidate has said or done. So then, the question becomes whether or not this guy will siphon off votes from the Republican nominee, and if that looks like a realistic possibility, the Republican nominee will tell everyone that he wants to kill all immigrants with chainsaws or whatever else it takes to prevent the siphoning effect from occurring.Kumioko wrote:Yeah you know this guy has precisely zero chance of getting elected right?
More importantly (at least for non-Virginians), a big reason why articles like this are appearing on non-US media sites like Haaretz is that it serves the increasingly-justifiable "Trump proves America can no longer be trusted" agenda, which will soon compel more countries to move to the Euro zone and in turn, weaken the US economy - which is exactly what the Republicans apparently want. (I assume this is because most of their money is already safely offshore, and they all made out pretty well during the last big recession anyway, so hey, why not go for round two.)
Okay, that last bit probably came out a bit too conspiratorialist... especially since most people outside of the US already had plenty of reasons not to trust the American government, well before 2016. Still, the US has always had wacko political candidates, but they never got this much publicity from foreign media before, and I personally don't think that's a coincidence.

Sounds like the family is particularly shitty as well
Nathan Larson's father, Arthur Larson, is accused of assaulting a Homeland Security agent.
Look at this fucker and try to imagine what's going on in his head.
He's got some shitty eyes too.On Dec. 17, Fauquier County, Virginia authorities searched Larson’s home in Catlett, Virginia. While there, Larson’s father, 69-year-old Arthur Larson, allegedly assaulted a Homeland Security Investigations agent. The elder Larson was arrested for assault and battery and later released from jail after posting bond.

That has been his constant refrain. I hope he apologizes sincerely for emboldening and supporting this guy. Apparently, he visited him in prison before. I fail to see how humanitarian visits had to translate into apology for this criminal.

Re: Banned Wikipedia editor runs for Congress
Let us recall Abd's view on Larson
How now, Lomax cow?Association with Bad Actors – Cold Fusion Community
While he was in prison, he wrote me and I sent him a game board. I was a chaplain at San Quentin State Prison in California and know how much little things like that can mean to a person. However, Nathan was provocative, even with friends, and there were times when I demanded he no stop contacting me. I supported the disallowance of his writing about suicide on Wikiversity, because of the disruption involved, unless ethical guidelines were developed; so he edited on Wikibooks instead. He was, by that time, under heavy attack as allegedly a “pedophile,” and this was probably the origin of his WikiMedia Foundation global ban in 2015. Before then, I was also attacked over allegedly supporting him.
Larson has never acknowledged such an attraction, and has shown no evidence of it, only of being willing to imagine hypothetical situations where he might — or might not — actually be functionally attracted, which was translated by some journalists to “proudly admitted.” They are mind-readers, and not doing a good job of it.If he was actually a “self-admitted pedophile,” he was lying. His actual sexual preference is for mature females “a bit on the heavy side” (what used to be called “voluptuous” — not generally a prepubescent trait) — or something like that...
That’s my opinion, given the conditions, he is not a threat to children. To become a threat, he would need to be exposed to risk, and he is not.

So far only charged with a misdemeanor, presumably so they can hold him for extradition. I can't imagine he's having a very good time in jail, people who fuck with kids are seen as the lowest kind of garbage in there as well and are treated accordingly. He'll either be in a single-man cell or locked up with another pedophile the whole time he's inside, "for his protection."

Larson is now in Denver County Jail, facing a misdemeanor charge of harboring a minor, as well as Fresno felony charges for child abduction, kidnapping, soliciting child porn from a minor, and meeting a child with the intention for sex. A hearing is set for Dec. 24.

The sad fact is that Nathan Larson was caught only after he abducted a 12 year old. He was not under surveillance. His sites had not been shut down. He will probably face a bunch of charges because of what they will likely find on his devices, which they accessed only because of his arrest.

While they appear to have done at least a decent job with this particular story, one can no longer assume that Newsweek is reliable journalism. Fresno Co. detectives get more leads in case against alleged pedophile accused of kidnapping 12-year-old girlFRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- While 40-year-old Nathan Larson sits in a Denver, Colorado, jail, awaiting extradition to Fresno, the case against him is building.
Detectives are getting several leads from girls who claim they were victims of the man the Fresno County Sheriff calls a pedophile.
"Immediately we started getting emails, some tips more about Larson. This is international. We've gotten from all over the country - lots of people on the East Coast, even some tips from Canada coming our way," said Tony Botti with the Fresno County Sheriff's Office.

Re: Banned Wikipedia editor runs for Congress
It was a speedy keep. The proposer's main argument for deletion was "He's not a notable person. He's notorius, and that's different. The article's a hatchet job, and that can't be fixed -- it's inherently a hatchet job because of the sources of his supposed notability. That's a BLP violation." In other words, it's impossible to have a BLP about someone convicted of a serious crime. There were three keep and one delete !votes. The latter said "Fails NPOL spectacularly", which is true, but nobody is suggesting that his political career is the reason for his notability.Giraffe Stapler wrote: ↑Fri Dec 25, 2020 6:11 pmAll over the news? And likely to be widely-reported case thanks to his previous conviction for threatening to kill the President and his stunt political campaigns? Then the only sensible thing to do is delete the article.

Re: Banned Wikipedia editor runs for Congress
Had similar issues years ago when working on the Sante Kimes (T-H-L) article. Somebody (never was sure exactly who they really were) wanted the article to have a more positive tone. Kimes was a con artist, murderer and habitual criminal. She did not appear to have a "personal life" outside of swindling people. Someone claiming to be her lawyer showed up, a really, really terrible "official" website popped up, all in an effort to influence the article to be more positive when she was known for being irredeemably horrible. Sorry, whoever you were, that just isn't how it works.

A few details starting trickle out.
The referenced forum chat is interesting. It's on a site known (strongly suspected?) to be owned by Larson. The user wristslit69996 (who claims to be from Arkansas) says "Hey I can kidnap you I’m 25 yo if you interested send me a message on Kik to wristslit69996". Larson is 40 and from Virginia. If there's anyone who would go on a pedo website and use their real details when engaging in an interstate criminal conspiracy, it's Nathan Larson, so I suspect this is lazy reporting (and/or lazy police work) but time will tell.
‘Hey I can kidnap you’: New details in case of white supremacist pedophilia advocate who allegedly kidnapped 12-year-old from CaliforniaPolice determined that Larson met the girl through Discord, an online gaming chat application, but that they’d also communicated on a European site that fetishizes rape and kidnapping. The girl expressed a desire to be kidnapped, and Larson agreed to do it, according to authorities.
“Hey I can kidnap you,” he wrote at one point, using the screen name “wristslit69996,” according to the complaint. He later told the girl that he wanted to rape her, authorities would determine at the investigation’s end, according to the complaint.

Cached thread from rapey.su
I wonder what mental gymnastics Abd and Graaf will come up with to explain this.
Hello, John. John, hello. You're the one soul I would come up here to collect myself.
