Kenneth Keazor (T-H-L)
1. I'm not too familiar with how the Nigerian government works but I think he meets NPOL. Whether or not a non-Wikipedian would think he warrants an article is beyond me.
2. Fee Fi Fo Fum I smell a COI.
3. Yes.
Valentina Battler (T-H-L)
1. No.
2. Two autobiographies in a row! I should buy a lottery ticket.
3. Yes.

Gutzon Borglum living there makes it more notable than a lot of similarly small towns. Whether or not you think in a perfect world this warrants an entire page is another matter.
For comparison, Cresco, Iowa (T-H-L) is a very small town where almost nothing of note has happened beyond being the hometown of one of the most important agriculturalists ever.

Nod, but it would be nice if the articles actually said so, right? Yes, BEFORE. But BEFORE is not a requirement of this game show is it?Paragon Deku wrote: ↑Thu Apr 18, 2024 5:26 amGutzon Borglum living there makes it more notable than a lot of similarly small towns. Residencia de Estudiantes (T-H-L)
1. Yes. I will add that I find the article interesting.
2. Oddly, yes, despite its utter lack of sources. Likely a translation of a Spanish article by someone who knows
3. I am not certain what that trusted alternate source would be
But sources would be really good....

Pavel Medvedev (scholar) (T-H-L)
1. Yes.
2. No.
3. No.
This Russian scholar clearly had influence in post revolution Russia, until he was killed by Stalin.
But it's a three paragraph biography with one reference.
As the bibliography makes clear, far better summaries exist.

1. I smell family history, and somebody should check to make certain this is not copy-paste from one of the sources. But it seems harmless enough, and while "ship owner" may sound boring, countries were fighting wars over shipping rights in this period
2. Yes
3. Such as what exactly?

Dicrocaulon (T-H-L)
A single sentence for a plant genus, where not one of its species has a wiki page.
1. No
2. No
3. No
It has one source. It is clearly a database entry not an article. Yet it still somehow manages to have a grammatical error.
It's quite apparent from microstubs like this, that the obsessive documentation of taxonomy totally ruins really rather useful encyclopedia articles like the Family Aizoaceae (T-H-L), to which this species belongs, but evidently as an entirely unimportant member of a realy rather large data set.
------
TIL that Cape Provinces (T-H-L) is a biogeographic area of South Africa. Sadly I learned that from the single reference. Whichever bot or human that created this Wikipedia database entry has chosen to change this verifiable and quite useful factoid to the "South African Republic" instead. Whatever that is. It can't be the Republic of South Africa (T-H-L) surely. Defining the ranges of plants species with respect to national borders would be insane. Thinking you're better than Kew Science (T-H-L) at such things, equally insane.
Welcome to Wikipedia.

This is clearly a notable violinist based on the text, but there's only one reference, and it's in French. It's inconceivable that better summaries wouldn't exist. The man died in 2012, there is surely even an online obituary somewhere
It's not like we're even talking about trying to reconstruct the life of an 19th Century Peruvian mountain flute player from the oral histories of his primarily goat based audiences. This is a Romanian who performed in Western Europe in the 60s and had records released in Europe and North America. Allegedly.
If it's not a compete hoax. Which it could be.

Kenneth Renshaw (T-H-L)
1. A senior at Julliard? I realize you have to demonstrate considerable talent to even get there, mind you, and while I don't have much of a frame of reference for violinists, even I recognize one of the teachers mentioned. so maybe that's a GNG tie-breaker. I haven't examined the references but those are mostly daily newspapers and the articles seem to be about him specifically.
2, Meh. Article history is DGG (T-C-L)vs Bbb23 (T-C-L). Based on that I would say no,
3. No idea where I would look, and I probably wouldn't

Might be a notable temple. If there are better sources for the claims that it is a pilgrim site and dates to the 17th century than "x tourist attractions in random Indian village" and "list of assorted temples" type articles.

Google Maps reviews may not include the "History" section. Which for some reason is a list of (almost) drowning accidents. (I wonder whether the author of the article understands the difference between "drowning" and "being drowned".)

Morgan County Courthouse (Indiana) (T-H-L)
1. No

3. No
It's hard not to trust a 50 word article on a historic building when it's quite clearly just a reproduction of national and state records about the building (which exist because it is historic). And presumably Wikipedia is conveying less information than those sources. If not, then why?
I am left wondering what counts as historic. The article doesn't say. If Wikipedia aims to document every civic building from the 1850s, it might need a few more cups of coffee.

To be fair the article says that it is listed on the National Register of Historic Places (T-H-L). So it is "historic" according to the criteria for inclusion on the Register.Kraken wrote: ↑Thu Apr 18, 2024 6:10 pmMorgan County Courthouse (Indiana) (T-H-L)

That was rather my point. Most people would know without even having to look that you get on such a register for being "worthy of preservation for their historical significance or great artistic value". So you circle back to the article and remain totally in the dark as to whether the building is historic for its age or its architecture. Or both.rnu wrote: ↑Thu Apr 18, 2024 6:21 pmTo be fair the article says that it is listed on the National Register of Historic Places (T-H-L). So you go to the sources with the listing for a better summary, hopefully. Hence, what was even the point of the Wikipedia article? As Wikipedia helpfully points out in a few clicks, the UK has Itallianate buildings as much as 50 years older than this courthouse. So without further context, Wikipedia is literally just the National Register of Historic Places, and some other buildings, maybe.

Ah! Then I misunderstood. I thought you were criticizing the use of the word "historic" as more or less meaningless, not the lack of an explanation on why it is on the Register.Kraken wrote: ↑Thu Apr 18, 2024 6:44 pmThat was rather my point. 1. No. However I suspect that it would be a good thing to have this article if it wasn't for 3.
2. Looks like it is solid for the minimal information in the article, but see 3.
3. I sure hope that there are better options. I found this German page which looks more reliable and contradicts the Wikipedia article on such trivial things as where she was born and whether or not it is known where she got her (musical) education and includes significantly more information.

2. No: the only interesting information, that he brawled with Uwe Seeler in a World Cup match, is marked [citation needed].
3. No: there are multiple obituaries that summarize his life better than Wikipedia does.

Re: Answer these three questions about a random Wikipedia article and win a car
Jean Creton (T-H-L)
1. The question cannot be sensibly answered. We should have this article. It should not be categorized as a biography however. The man is important for his La Prinse et mort du Roy Richart d'Angleterre, based on British Library MS Harley 1319, a first-hand account of the downfall of Richard II. I am adding the category "Historians of England".
2. Yes. The GA review seems to have been very cursory, but it is refreshing to see a Good Article that is in fact a good article.
3. I do think that alternate sources specifically about Jean Creton probably do not exist. None of the sources actually cited are about him either.

1. No, it isn't obvious why why have this article, but I am not averse. It is..... interesting. Probably could become something quite good.
2. Mmm. As a writing prompt, yes. It is rather lightly referenced though. I am also not sure what to make of this:
3. It isn't clear another source would exist

Aha, yes, Prohibition was in effect and Colorado was part of the US by then.... but probably that context should be mentioned, as well as what happened about that.In July, 1923 Mrs. Gretchen Wood was arrested. Her driver had wrecked their car into another automobile causing injury to the three pas sengers, after which Mrs. Wood’s home was searched and 17 cases of liquor were found.

1. Geo something?
2. I don't actually doubt any of it but I can't take it seriously, no.
3. I am absolutely positive that better sources must exist

Considering the referencing, my first thought was, is this a hoax.
No thank you Turkish, I'm sweet enough.

The fact this article is rated as "low importance" in the sphere of "international relations" is ever so slightly terrifying.
Sherlock Holmes wrote:Belarus is amongst the few states in Europe that have not asked for membership in the European Union. Similarly, the European Union has not offered membership to Minsk.
No thank you Turkish, I'm sweet enough.

An illustration of how critiques shouldn't ignore the fact en.wiki is just one of the Wikipedias. Charles Stanislas Marion (T-H-L) is quite respectable, and they have articles on the mentioned son and grandson, who aren't even interwiki-linked: Charles Louis François Marion (T-H-L) (stub, bare-link ref to his archives), Charles Louis Raoul Marion (T-H-L) (not bad but almost all from one source). Charles Stanislas' French article already looked like this when the English one was created: https://fr.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?ti ... =115749287.
