I don't know if I'd call it "wondrous", but the upload history of Corn cheese (T-C-L) certainly paints a picture. A rather sad one.
He's uploaded two more this month. I haven't checked whether any of his uploads is in use anywhere outside Commons.

Don't know about 'best', but a good example of a professional photographer's work. Uploaded to Commons as a copyright-free publicity still, which seems plausible.

That's the longest explanation of why a file is free I've ever seen.

I encountered a similar situation when trying to find a free image of Gail Zappa (T-H-L), but I punted and uploaded it at Wikipedia as fair use. File:Gail zappa.jpeg (T-H-L)

This is very good. Unfortunately for commons, Stephenombwodo(T-C-F-L) uploaded one of Peter Caton's photos and claimed it as his own work.

Fun facts:
  • Nigel de Hund is credited as editor on Tom Six's movies.
  • Tom Six had a pug named Nigel.
  • Tom Six may be slightly vain about his image.
  • Tom Six always wears a hat. There's nothing wrong with that. He's not bald, he just likes hats. Not that there's anything wrong with being bald, but he isn't. If a man wants to wear a hat all the time, even indoors, why do people automatically assume he's balding? Trust me, if Tom Six were balding, he'd be proud to show off his manly pate every chance he got. But he isn't. He just likes hats.

So was this edit self-promotion? (It lasted three hours.)
Recent Projects

The Human Centipede Second Sequence is due to come out in 2011. The project is already drawing controversy from the few critics who know or care about who Tom Six is. Dan "Big Pabst" McGuire of the New Jersey used auto emporium monthly mailer said that the Human Centipede was "Alright, but I wish that those tittiesw were bigger, and that there was mre poop" And for the record more was mispelled. As far as the second installment goes, the movie will have twice the ass sucking glory that was "The Human Cenipede." Tom Six wrote the movie after drunkenly beating his pregnant wife and masturbating on her open wounds. He spent 15 years in a mentle institution researching the subject matter. He would ask inmates, " Hey, If I help you escape, who would you brutally rape first, and how would you do it." All of the fans couldn't be more thrilled, I planned to interview all 9 of his fans but they had either been arrested or commited a brutal rape suicide rape rape suicide pact before I could ask them any questions. So the real question is, what on earth is a brutal rape suicide rspe rape suicide pact?

Rape Suicide Rape Rape Suicde Pacts.

These pacts are not your parents blood orgy brutally murder sharen tate pacts ( I'm thinking of you Uncle Charlie) by the way if you agree with that statement you completely normal, but you probably really like childporn. Now to start such a pact you only need a few basic supplies as Tom Six wrote in his handy Handbook " A weekend at Bernie's Two" " Listen, I'm no Ted Danson but I could have my dick four inches into your eye socket with 5 dollars worth of roofies and pure human willpower.

I also love hats. You can tell a hat person by asking them to describe the difference between a Fedora and a Trilby.

I also have huge amounts of hair, so much so that when I had mine done by my wife's hairdresser (we are still operating minimal contact where I live due to COVID, normally I would have gone to the Turkish barbers) I ended up taking twice as long and costing more. (This does not mean my wife is bald which would be another conclusion.)

This forum, this sad little Gregory Kohs tribute act slash koo koo farm, clearly no longer has any use for such things, and even if it did, it can't attract the sort of members who would know what to do with it (e.g., Wade is a lot of things, but she quite obviously isn't a paid editor). There is no point to things like this either. I didn't highlight that biography for any other reason than to make the point Jess Wade has more power than Jimmy Wales, and any alleged critic that doesn't see it, is a fucking moron. If that point is not accepted, don't embarrass yourselves or me by thinking that post has any relevance otherwise. Posts like that can be written every single day. That is the whole fucking point. Wikipediocracy and Gender Desk don't care, the former because most of their membership are to blame for it happening, the latter because her warped politics prevents her accepting reality. And now we see Eric Barbour doesn't care either, because he must have have touched by Jimmy in the same place Gregory Kohs was. Well, fuck him. His pain is nothing compared to the fact Wikipedia and Wikipediocracy would rather children are abused than the likes of Beeblebrox/Black Kite/NewYorkBrad/Wade/Hillbillyholiday are held to account. If this forum won't do it, fine. Fuck you very much. Eric, you should have burned in the fire. You'd at least then have been of some use as a martyr.

they're both gone. Blatant copyvios is something Commons actually cares about.
Really?? Then why is it so full of blatant copyvios? They care when it gets pointed out to them, but only if it is done (a) on Commons (b) using the correct templates (c) with idiot-proof evidence that it is a copyright violation. I would guess about half of the stuff that gets uploaded in any given day (excluding bulk uploaders like Fae) are copyright violations.
My experience with Commons is that they ADORE adhering to the most narrow, implausible interpretations of copyright law imaginable and they are particularly Vogonian if they are moving down a list of uploads of someone they don't like.

You could take every Commons admin, weld them inside the back of a cement truck mixer, poke it full of 6" airholes on all sides, and push them over Niagara Falls for all I care.

I will NEVER upload there again.

Commons is wildly unpredictable in their interpretation of the rules, to an extent far beyond EN.WP. There absolutely is a subset of the admin corps there that has one set of rules for the insiders and an entirely different set for the evil invaders who are not "from" there. However, I keep uploading stuff there because I like seeing the images spread out across the different projects, that's actually what Commons is supposed to be about, not some clubhouse for only those "in the know". That and I only upload my own images, or images produced by the US federal government that are public domain, and in both cases the rules are perfectly clear.

BRICKS!
Image

I started looking at this persons uploads after seeing their very strange comments on the help desk, where they seem to be asking if Commons can somehow make it warmer in their house link. They mention they have more than 2,000 photos they want to upload, if only they could stay warm while doing so. It seems like they just wander around their town taking pictures of pretty much everything, roads, chalk marks on rocks, roadside litter, and of course bricks. Pretty sure they are misusing commons as a image hosting website, but also pretty sure it isn't worth the trouble to try and do anything about it.

And now someone has gone and nominated it for deletion! Beeblebrox, what do you have against Whoisjohngalt (T-C-L)? I think they should be commended for donating pictures of their various medical procedures to Commons. I think this non-sexualized picture of a man in an adult diaper is probably quite useful.
Who is Whoisjohngalt? I hear you asking. It's a 62 year old man named John Campbell who lives in The Villages, Florida. I didn't put that stuff on WIkipedia, so don't get mad at me for telling what he put there himself. Ok, he didn't tell me that his partner works for Jack Morton Worldwide, so he probably shouldn't be editing it, but it's not like he has any other conflicts of interest, right? Of course, his Twitter implies he's a lobbyist, so who knows?

I was being serious, by the way. I'm sure there are lots of people with various fetishes who would be more than happy to share pictures of themselves in adult diapers, but this is a completely non-sexual image (at least to my mind). Not everybody is willing to let the world see them in an adult diaper. Good for Whoisjohngalt for being brave enough to do that.

According to his Instagram, he works "doing social media for small and medium businesses" so I guess he's just a run of the mill stealth paid editor. Not as exciting as a sneaky lobbyist.

While I agree with the sentiment, it really shouldn't be necessary to remind people not to rape children, although I'm waiting for someone to argue that it could be used in a userbox. "This user strongly disagrees with raping children".

Maybe not the appropriate thread but I was looking for reference images of bicolour cats for an embroidery project and encountered this category (for some reason classified under Category:Cats by bicolor pattern*):
https://commons.m.wikimedia.org/wiki/Ca ... Sockington
And the description “domestic cat with large Twitter following” gave me a good chuckle this morning, so maybe someone else will appreciate it.

See, this what happens when you try to ban booze. That is all solid mid-grade, when this guy could clearly afford the good stuff. Do you think he ever makes monster cocktails and drinks them out of the giant brass prosthetic leg?

A scan of a gelatin emulsion on glass by photographer Costică Acsinte. I don't know what went wrong, but I like it.

Fair-use version

The mugshot is a member of Category:Fair use images of mug shots. Usually the Wikipedia Copyright Police are stingy with their grants of "acceptable fair use" on Wikipedia but apparently mug shots are exempt from their rules. Often display of fair-use images is restricted to a single article, but the Trump mugshot is already included in no fewer than five Wikipedia articles, between the two versions of the photo.

Version which lacks evidence of permission

EDIT: That version seems to give him an oranger tan!
No coffee? OK, then maybe just a little appreciation for my work out here?

Whenever I see this particular mugshot, I'm reminded of The Steady Hand, the eighth album (released in 2006) by New Radiant Storm King (T-H-L).

...Except there are no butterflies, and of course the guy on the album cover is better-looking.
