Miraheze is a wiki-hosting farm, funded by donations, and attracts the same people who edit Wikia/Fandom and Wikipedia, along with wikis in general. However, it seems that they don't bother doing any checking on wikis, as one exists that is called the Live Action Children Foot Scene!. Surely that should raise questions, as feet are a common fetish.

The creator and main editor of the wiki is DeltaRuneFan2001, who also founded the Animated Feet Scenes Wiki, which is a fetish wiki. He appears to be, judging by what I've seen, developmentally delayed. I don't mean that in a bad way - it's likely he doesn't really get how creepy it is to run/edit a wiki about children's fictional feet.

On the other hand, I don't see why Tycio, AKA Tyciol (T-C-L) should be editing any wiki, let alone fetish ones. Does Miraheze really want to be known as the place that lets paedophiles write creepy stuff about kids?

In July 2015, John Lewis and Ferran Tufan created a new wiki farm - named Miraheze. Through the use of community crowdfunding and personal investment, Miraheze officially went live in August of 2015. Over the years, the project has grown immensely to be one of the largest and most recognizable wiki farms specializing in MediaWiki on offer. Despite the success and evolution, one aspect of Miraheze never changed - formal existence. In November 2019, Miraheze became an registered non-profit in the UK as Miraheze Limited.

Who are the Directors?

The directors are listed below with some basic information about their commitments and roles:

Ferran Tufan is the Chair of the Board of Directors. More commonly known by his Miraheze username of Southparkfan, Ferran is one of the co-founders of Miraheze and serves as a community Steward and Director of Site Reliability Engineering. Ferran was appointed on November 20th 2019 and has a term expiration date of December 1st 2021.
Owen Baines is the Secretary and Treasurer for the Board of Directors. Owen was invited by the existing Technical volunteers of Miraheze to establish Miraheze Limited and had been actively working on registration from August 2019. Going by the Miraheze username of Owen, he is responsible for finances, acting as go-to for external communication and ensuring compliance of Miraheze with United Kingdom law. Owen was appointed on November 20th 2019 and has a term expiration date of December 1st 2021.
Alexander Zimmerman is a member of the Board of Directors. Known by his Miraheze username of Void and has been a Steward since May 2017. Alexander was appointed on November 20th 2019 and has a term expiration date of December 1st 2021.
Robert Lanphier is a member of the Board of Directors. Known by his Miraheze username of RobLa, Robert is an active user of the service. Focusing on Electoral Reform currently, in the past he has worked at Internet Archive, Wikimedia Foundation, Linden Labs and RealNetworks. Robert was appointed on December 20th to serve a term lasting from January 1st 2020 until December 31st 2021.

What in the world makes MIraheze so slow? Is it all the extensions they use?

Apparently, one of the co-founders of Miraheze, John F. Lewis (T-C-L), is globally banned by the WMF on Wikimedia wikis. Someone asked about this on his miraheze talk page and here is the reply:

Information I'm not disclosing (for legal purposes) but the global ban is just text and part of a process. The physical policy behind it does not apply or affect me as a different agreement takes precedent over it.

This popped up when an IP user tried to insert a link to Miraheze on Wikipedia:Alternative outlets (T-H-L). See Legoktm's talk page and the teahouse.

Am not able to log into MIraheze websites for review as their install is still very slow. Someone once explained to me it was slow due to all the extensions. But that doesn't make a whole lot of sense.

Not sure why so many people use Miraheze, it's a very stressful experience all around. Nevermind the loading times are sometimes around 20 seconds per page.

Much easier to just self-host a wiki.

The Directors have met to consider where the future of Miraheze as a project lies - taking into account recent events, long term sustainability problems, financial situation and doing the right thing by the communities we serve. Having consulted remaining technical volunteers, the Board has decided that is it not in the project's best interests to continue operating long term.

Several volunteers left Miraheze and started another wikifarm, Wikitide. The Wikitide Foundation is a nonprofit incorporated in Idaho and the registered agent is Tavon Hansen, who was a director of Miraheze. Just appointed to their board of directors is Harej (T-C-L), who was previously on the boards of directors of Wikimedia DC (2011-2018) and Wiki Project Med Foundation (2017).
