"Are you ready for IPv6?" was a former Metapedia sysop

"Are you ready for IPv6?" is "KimboSlice" at Encyclopedia Dramatica, "RobertBobkins" at Conservapedia, "BjornStronginthearm" at Stormfront, and "A Wyatt Man" at Metapedia and Rightpedia (right.orain.org). He's a former Metapedia sysop and a current Rightpedia sysop.

For instance, the furry fandom controls its articles to keep references of the embarassing aspects of their fandom to a minimum. And even scientific articles have people trashing them, like the element 115 has been speculated in fiction and rumors to possibly be some kind of usable power source (called Elerium) and the people remove even a see also link to that so it's hard to find, they want to hide it to ruin the article. And then there's the whole thing how the people like to delete content left and right, which as a person who only edits there once or twice a year now for several years, and I mostly read, I am glad they now keep viewable histories as backups as I'm always using that to read what I need as normally they merge articles and carry no or almost no information over that I was looking for. I'm not talking about just the people here that remove cultural references. The cultural stuff about this element [Element 115] is in other articles and obviously should be linked to in a see also. I add the links in see also about once after 1-2 years and come back and some sadist or another removes it when I return years later. Typical scum... Wrong, it was moved to the Draft space, not deleted, which means I can still see your contributions to that article:

I notice if I search for Gaza or Palestine in this article, no text comes up. To be fair, "Are you ready" was copying text that was already in the "New York City blackout of 1977" artile, but it still shows that "A Wyatt Man" and "Are you ready" have the same interests in associating hip-hop with crime.

Hmm the register has another thing at http://www.theregister.co.uk/2008/06/24/byrne_back_conspiracy_theory_with_cash/ which is not about Weiss, but about a wikipedia and wall street conspiracy. Unfortunately, there's no mention of the current Wall Street conspiracy of how the US government wants to give $700 billion and likely trillions more not to stimulate the economy but to purely to inflate the salaries of rich CEOs who are friends of the Bush administration and both Obama and McCain support it (but not Ron Paul). I don't believe that "Are you ready for IPv6?" is his initial Wikipedia account since the "RobertBobkins" Conservapedia account predates the "Are you ready for IPv6?" Wikipedia account.

In addition, "Are you ready for IPv6?" must be a returning user since "RobertBobkins" / "A Wyatt Man" / BjornStronginthearm" all talk about Jayjg, yet "Are you ready for IPv6?" never argued with Jayjg (perhaps intentionally avoiding him).

There was a person Jayjg who was this Zionist paid editor in Canada and he had an employee also using named SlimVirgin (a middle aged woman who used to work for British intelligence services). They had other Israel-paid editors with them. Jayjg and SlimVirgin were terrors of the wiki. Jayjg had every adminstrative power possible while SlimVirgin was just an administrator. They controlled everything. Jayjg also would go and use the Checkuser (it looks up records of IP addresses, HTTP headers, etc. of accounts and crossreferences to IP addresses) that few had. He used it for fishing, which was against the rules. Whenever he or his Zionist paid editors got into an edit war with someone, he went fishing for any related account to them to claim they're someone else to get an excuse to ban them. Eventually he was demoted to just administrator and SlimVirgin lost her admin powers, but I think this was temporary. Encyclopedia Dramatica or Wikipedia Review will have more accounts on them. Does anyone have any idea of what his Wikipedia account was before he became "Are you ready for IPv6?"? In August 2009, he claimed to be living in Northern Nevada, and his Stormfront profile claims that he currently lives in Portland, Oregon (although that might be an intentional red herring).

What does any of this blather have to do with Wikipedia, the Wikimedia Foundation, and the various things they get up to?

As far as I can make out it amounts to: "There are racists and other kinds of dodgy people on the internet."

I think that, apart from Michael's need to "out" this guy, he's also trying to make a point: there are a lot of assholes bouncing around from wiki to wiki, stirring up shit. Wikipedia is at the "intersection" of this particular Highway of Crazy.

And also, Michael is a sysop on ED. Most likely they're having problems with Mr. "Are you ready"/KimboSlice/whatever thereon. As for who "Are you ready" actually is: take your pick. He could be Mikemikev, he could be Blu Aardvark, he could be any number of assorted ultra-right cranks who have popped up on WP over the years. He's been on WP since 2008 and edited a bizarre mix of articles. Including the ED article and a mishmash of hacker-related subjects. Plus the Wikipedia Review article.

As I recall, Bjorn Stronginthearm is definitely Blu Aardvark.

He sent me a weird email a few years back apologizing to me for various offenses. I mostly ignored it.

That is his FB account. I remember watching several of his youtube videos (they're all deleted now), he looked similar. The Linkedin profile says he used to live in John Day, OR, like his FB page does.

Here's his joke FB account.

I Emailed ArbCom a little over a month ago, and Thryduulf acknowledged receiving it, yet they still haven't done anything. Now I can see why:

https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Wikipedia_talk:Harassment&diff=650471760&oldid=650395061
Strong oppose. I am expressing only my own opinion here, not the opinion of the whole Arbitration Committee, however I am speaking as someone who would be dealing with the consequences of anything posted. In my view it is never acceptable to out anyone on Wikipedia, regardless of the motivation for doing so - and that explicitly includes the possibility of a person being a paid editor. While it is possible that no harm will come from suggesting that User:X here is User:X elsewhere, this is not always going to be the case. Even if the linking is correct, and especially if it is incorrect, there always exists the possibility of real world harm. Investigations should also not be undertaken - Wikipedia editors do not have the skills, resources or powers to conduct such investigations. I personally will not be doing any, even if asked as a member of the Arbitration Committee, without the prior and explicit written approval of the WMF to investigate the specific user and the prior and explicit written statement from the WMF legal department that they will cover 100% of the legal costs that I might incur from undertaking that investigation (for example if I am sued for defamation or libel). I do not have the resources to defend myself against any legal action, especially considering that I am subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, which are the world capital for libel tourism (and not without reason). As others have said more eloquently above, the problem is not with paid editors (disclosed or undisclosed) but with biased edits and biased articles, which may arise for any number of non-financial reasons. Thryduulf (talk) 17:25, 8 March 2015 (UTC)
"Investigations should also not be undertaken". Wow. For the past few years, it also felt as if ArbCom was ignoring the evidence that I send to it regarding sockpuppetry and other matters. Now, I guess that they do ignore it or at least refuse to look into it further.

P.S. "Are you ready for IPv6?" ceased contributing to enwiki shortly after this thread was created. He probably knows by now that his cover has been blown.

P.P.S. The "Investigations should not be undertaken [that involved off-wiki evidence]" mantra is probably why the GamerGate case ended the way it did. These non-investigators are our judges, juries, and executioners.

P.P.P.S. Why is ArbCom filled with risk-averse people like Thryduulf? Voters are not served by risk aversion. Voters would be better served by selecting daring, outgoing, and outspoken individuals. Voters keep demanding action and change, yet they select risk-averse individuals who are unlikely to create real change. I guess that the daring, the outgoing, and the outspoken aren't elected because those types of characteristics lead to many enemies and eventual banning.

Hey, Blu Aardvark here, just wanted to take a moment to confirm that "Are You Ready for IPv6" is not, in fact, me, nor is Bjorn StrongInArm.

I find your speculations interesting, and the similar interests are actually a bit suspicious, but it ain't me. I simply don't have the time for such shenanigans anymore. I do have a Wikipedia account, which I use to make constructive edits on occasion, but ve-r-y rarely (69 edits in 17 months, hiding in plain sight); I'm a married man working a full-time job and studying for my associates degree at a local community college. Oh, and I live in central Idaho, as can be confirmed by any of my active social networking profiles which you guys are apparently stalking.

P.S. If you're wondering how I managed to find this discussion, well, someone decided to slather it on good ol' Dramatica. I pop by every now and again to review my article for changes, and found I have a new admirer. Par for the course in my line of work, I guess.

Thank you. I am indeed the genuine article, but I'm not going to make any concerted efforts to prove it or anything.

Don't get me wrong, I was proud to have an ED article, back in the day. But I've moved on in my life, and ED has not. Honestly, I do take a wee bit of offense to my name and picture being slathered onto the page - I always felt that real names were a step too far, and genuinely unfunny. Frankly, it's one of a myriad of reasons why I stopped contributing to ED. Too many people with grudges shitting out libelous hate pages in the name of the lulz.

Sorry. There are two ED sysops on this forum, take it up with them. I don't even have time to read it anymore.

You have to admit, it's starting to closely resemble Wikipedia. With insane patroller admins and an endless river of fools using it to brainlessly insult each other. What's the difference?

Eh, it is what it is. I'm not BAWWWWING or anything, and I highly doubt that any of it is against ED's current policies. I'm not a fan, but I'm not butthurt, either.

I do, however, agree with your conclusion. There is no difference. A bunch of people with ideological axes to grind and too much time on their hands, and an eventual lawsuit in the making.

Pikagrue wrote:Hey, Blu Aardvark here, just wanted to take a moment to confirm that "Are You Ready for IPv6" is not, in fact, me, nor is Bjorn StrongInArm.

It's about time that you showed up, although I was hoping that you would show up on ED instead. I knew that Are you ready's February 4th contributions were too convenient in their timing. I mentioned the possibility of "Are you ready" impersonating you to throw investigators off-course in my February Email to ArbCom:
To: Michaeldsuarez <redacted>
Subject: Copy of your message to Arbitration Committee: "Are you ready for IPv6?" either is Blu Aardvark or an impersonator
From: Michaeldsuarez <redacted>
Date: Fri, 06 Feb 2015 18:21:46 +0000

I've been researching a former Metapedia sysop and current right.orain.org sysop known as "A Wyatt Man" (unrelated to the infamous artist with the same moniker). I was able to firmly connect "A Wyatt Man" to Stormfront participant "BjornStronginthearm" and Encyclopedia Dramatica user "KimboSlice":

https://encyclopediadramatica.se/Talk:Metapedia.org#.22A_Wyatt_Man.22_.3D_BjornStronginthearm_.3F (NSFW)

A Wyatt Man's complaints about what's included in Wikipedia's "Ununpentium" ("Element 115") article, as well as BjornStronginthearm's claims of having edited Wikipedia's "Cultural Marxism" article, has allowed me to connect "A Wyatt Man" / "BjornStronginthearm" to Wikipedia user "Are you ready for IPv6?":

http://wikipediocracy.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=6001

On February 4th, "Are you ready for IPv6?" made a series of edits that suggested that he was Blu Aardvark returned:

http://wikipediocracy.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=127650#p127650

A Wyatt Man / KimboSlice knows that I'm hot on his trail:

https://encyclopediadramatica.se/index.php?title=Talk:Metapedia.org&diff=712802&oldid=712627

https://encyclopediadramatica.se/index.php?title=Encyclopedia_Dramatica:Thizzlehat_Junction_Center&diff=713245&oldid=712288

So it's a little convenient (perhaps too convenient) that "Are you ready for IPv6?" made edits that suggested that he was Blu Aardvark on the 4th. Either he didn't realized that I found his Wikipedia account or is trying to prevent me from finding his real pre-"Are you ready" account and documenting it on ED.

Either way, "Are you ready" is likely a returning user or is impersonating someone whose real name and location haven't been a secret for years. If he's impersonating Blu Aardvark, then all of his actions become associated with a real name, which can be damaging to Blu Aardvark off-line. Either way, ArbCom should put a stop to "Are you ready".

Even if ArbCom doesn't believe that "Are you ready" is a sockpuppet or an impersonator, "Are you ready" has intentionally inserted misinformation into Wikipedia. "Are you ready" / "KimboSlice" was an insider within the original Encyclopedia Dramatica:

https://encyclopediadramatica.se/index.php?title=User_talk:KimboSlice&diff=708673&oldid=708658

"Are you ready" knew that "Joseph Evers" was a fictitious character created to troll journalists, yet he edit warred in order to have Joseph Evers mentioned:

https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Encyclopedia_Dramatica&diff=348911240&oldid=348670408

https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Encyclopedia_Dramatica&diff=348963813&oldid=348963268

https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Encyclopedia_Dramatica&diff=351057654&oldid=350721275

https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Encyclopedia_Dramatica&diff=357135973&oldid=357067817

https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Encyclopedia_Dramatica&diff=358160826&oldid=358028117

I hope ArbCom takes this matter and the evidence seriously.

It's funny how I gave ArbCom three separate reasons (returning banned user, impersonation, inserting misinformation) to ban "Are you ready", yet ArbCom pretty much left "Are you ready" alone.

You should contact ArbCom about the blatant impersonation. "Are you ready" likely saw your third revision to Wikipedia or your Homestar Runner wiki userpage and used that information (moderator on a Kingdom of Loathing forum) to subtly impersonate you:

I also help to moderate the forums over at the Kingdom of Loathing, and have a reasonable amount of experience with web page designing and formatting. I'm a huge fan/player in the Kingdom of Loathing, and help to moderate the forums over there under the name of Aardvark. I've also contributed to Wikipedia as Blu Aardvark, primarily in RC Patrol. Discovered H*R a few months ago, and got hooked instantly. It didn't take me long to catch up on all of the toons, and now I pull my hair waiting for the new ones.

Are you ready for IPv6? wrote:Are there still or are there not ads? I used to play this 2003-2005 and never saw ads. I'll try to dig up my account on their forums and ask, if the account still works. They probably went and disabled it because it was a moderator account. You're the only former ED sysop believed to be a former Stormfront poster, so you were the obvious target for this sort of impersonation.

Edit: I removed the misinformation from your ED article.

We're all at the "wrong game". Plus, I don't know who approved Blu Aardvark's account here, it sure-as-hell wasn't me.

"It was Bill! It was Bill!"

(This will only be comprehensible to those who remember the Flower Pot Men (T-H-L).)

All that shows is that universally, there are creepy, surrealistic children's television shows.

My parents were fond of telling me that I burst into hysterical tears the first time they put that show on for me. I would have been about 3 or 4. (The show itself was much older)

No, the scandal about the Flowerpot Men was that it was thought that children would be saying "Flobbabob" instead of talking proper English. Look at how the BBC was corrupting ordinary language: .
Would you want a child of yours to be saying "Weeeed"?

Quite.

To be fair, the article does mention that:
The Flower Pot Men spoke their own, highly inflected version of English, called Oddle Poddle, which was invented by Peter Hawkins (who also voiced the Daleks). At the end of each adventure, they would say bye-bye to each other and to the Little Weed – "Babap ickle Weed" – to which the Weed would inevitably reply with tremulous cadence "Weeeeeeeeeeed". This language, like that of the Teletubbies in the 1990s, was criticised for hindering children from learning proper English.
Hurrah, I used this twice today: :dalek:

In a strange sort of reverse Déjà vu, my daughter loved the Teletubbies, and I cringed every time. Plus ça change...

But tremulous cadence? One for Pseuds corner there.
