I always get a good chuckle out of the folks who Support adminship of people like MONGO by saying they "will be under scrutiny by a lot of people" and "they are open for recall". I'm pretty sure there has been a SINGLE successful admin recall in the history of Wikipedia (by successful, I mean one that wasn't forcibly closed and archived as "wrong forum" or for some other bogus reason). And scrutiny by whom? The other admins" Those guys follow a "circle the wagons" custom that puts many corrupt police departments to shame!

Yes, adding MONGO to the ranks would substantially lower the overall quality of admins at en.Wikipedia.

That's one of my favorite things about en.Wikipedia, there is always a fly ready to vomit on your food. There is always an admin ready to make the situation worse. There's always an arBer ready to create an undoable fuckfest that doesn't solve anything--besides focus the fly eyes on the target.

I, too, want a bullseye the size of the room. And a prize if I hit it. I want to be Miss America!

MONGO is claiming a few people urged him to run, but that he knew it would be a disaster.

K-Wolf is a good dude, I respect him a lot. We actually met fighting over content in an article on a left wing organization but wound up becoming, I think, quite good friends once we figured out that neither of us was out to either whitewash (him) or slander (me) the organization in question. NPOV does work.

Anyway, MONGO was just biting my head off about something or other, probably Gibraltar/WMUK related, and I've got him on the short list of potential administrators for that day WHEN PIGS FLY.
