JSTOR short article on Wikipedia with links to other interesting articles. JSTOR is of course about as reliable a source as you can get.

There are plenty of Wikipedians who think JSTOR is a terrible thing... bordering on criminal.

Compared to the criminality of academic journals that charge multiple hundreds of dollars for subscriptions and $50 or more for single article downloads, JSTOR is pretty damned close to a public good.

The query: "What has WMF done for me?" produces a very short list, but one of the really good things is getting me hooked up with a JSTOR subscription...

JSTOR is a repository containing academic journals, many of which one may reasonably hope to be reliable sources. JSTOR as an organisation, and its news letter, are as reliable as any other non-profit organisation and its internal publications, I presume.

It appears that ITHAKA, the parent of JSTOR, has an income similar to that of the WMF. It would be interesting to compare the two for effectiveness and efficiency.

One gives access to academic papers, the other chews the papers up until they are a masticated pulp suitable for fungal growth.
