Re: Neutral editors who have left the project
I am very excited about the progress being made at OpenEd with correct material and age appropriate online learning! Maintaining a safe, healthy environment is the next task. I am not certain how much Lila can do to insure the stable, safe, healthy learning environment . . . we can only hope . . .You work in the educational software field. What do you think about OpenEd (http://www.opened.io), where the WikiMedia Foundation Executive Director, Lila Tretikov, just joined their Board of Directors?

If you can explain some of the goals of OpenEd and the challenges they face, I will split our discussion into its own topic. Re: Neutral editors who have left the project
My understanding of OpenEd’s mission is that it aims to provide:If you can explain some of the goals of OpenEd and the challenges they face, I will split our discussion into its own topic.
1. an online K-12 educational resource library that also offers videos, games, and standards based courses for Common Core Math, Language Arts, Literacy, and Science;
2. a free assessment tool for personalized learning where each question has videos and games associated with it [the student takes an assessment then a resource engine makes suggestions to help the student gain mastery]; and
3. a fee based referral system for content owners to contribute premium paid content to a resource library funded by a $10 per month subscription fee from members,
... as explained at the OpenEd site on pages accessed 28 August 2014 from [hyperlink] https://www.opened.io/#!/about [/hyperlink] .
Also, I think this is a worthy topic since the significant challenges have not yet been publicly defined.
