I’ve probably made more than 10 edits this month, but on average I definitely haven’t, The written style of Wikipedia articles is extremely convoluted and most editors seem to prefer it that way. Also, there’s a general atmosphere of toxicity surrounding Wikipedia, especially as an editor with less than 500-1,000 edits. It’s simply not worth dedicating much time to.

I was thinking about starting the requisite 10-a-month to get the library access again. That’s cheaper than most alternatives.

Not bitey, but insular and awkward. It’s an alright place, but some experienced editors give off really bad energy - many seem power hungry to me.

This played a pretty sizeable role in convincing me to go back... it is definitely worth the 10 contribs a month. I also keep it in mind whenever I'm tempted to step on reborn toxico-dactylopedes in one of the lobbies.

I certainly used to make way more than ten edits a month, but it's been way lower the last few months. As I've stated elsewhere that was actually my plan all along and not necesarily the result of the bullshit the committee and the ombuds threw at me. I just don't have the type of job with a lot of downtime anymore, and four years on the commitree is enough to make anyone want a bit of a break.

Library access is the only reason I'd potentially increase my activity level. They've added some really nice resources that I could use for my genealogy hobby.
