So the long-winded, angry person who is threatening to sue is also threatening to out the editors involved in the article, and also appears to suggest they will kill GW's cat.
Charming.
Charming.

Re: Molly White - GW - Epik - $200 million dollar lawsuit
Talk of a $200 million dollar lawsuit is daft. They can't sue the WMF and they probably know it. Who then - anonymous IP addresses? Maybe one or two of the editors can be identified, and certainly GorillaWarfare can be (though her contributions to the article are not vast), but they are scarcely going to be able to pay millions of dollars.

It seems Molly wishes to have the change.org petition removed for the same reason Monster wants the bio on WP removed. They both should get their wish. Neither should be editing the articles.

The guy who posted the Change.org petition calls himself "Puneet Agarwal" — is that a common name in India? All the Google references to that name point to a guy who died recently in an elevator accident:

Since this will undoubtedly end with the Change.org petition being removed, here's a link to the petition. And an archive link for future reference. And here's an archive link to the blog on GorillaWarfare's blog.

Re: Molly White - GW - Epik - $200 million dollar lawsuit
I agree completely, but is that really what Rob Monster wants? He doesn't explicitly call for a deletion in this tweet, for example. And the petition itself (which he may or may not have written/posted himself) doesn't mention the bio article; it sort-of calls for the article about the company to be deleted, but just barely:
Time and again, we've seen that the "notable" bad-guys of the world don't want to delete their Wikipedia bios, they only want to control them. And lest we forget, this is the dude who hosted videos of the mass murders in New Zealand last year and called them "really bad CGI." So, not a particularly nice feller at all.Someone who's probably impersonating a dead guy wrote:Removal of the page/misleading content asked, or we can precise the past of the company (and explicitely say it was in the past, History section?) and add their answer to the claims made. However, Wikiedia is not a place for such debates, and the deletion of the page might be better.

Yeah. While I have no doubt the guy running Epik is a sleaze ball who is harassing GW, he doesn't appear to be a sleaze with any real audience or following.Osborne wrote: ↑Sun Apr 19, 2020 12:43 amGiraffe Stapler wrote: ↑Sat Apr 18, 2020 10:40 pmSince this will undoubtedly end with the Change.org petition being removed, here's a link to the petition. The Puneet Agarwal you're looking for is this one, Also has a profile on Upwork. He's a small-time cybersquatter and domain dealer who has already had his wrist slapped for trying to shake down Facebook. He posts on namepros.com's forums as "barybadrinath" (presumably after a similarly named movie character).Midsize Jake wrote: ↑Sat Apr 18, 2020 10:16 pmThe guy who posted the Change.org petition calls himself "Puneet Agarwal" — is that a common name in India? Agarwal or Agrawal (T-H-L) is a fairly common surname in India. Puneet is less common but far from rare.

That's how Change.org makes its money — the more money petition signers "chip in," the higher the petition appears on their internal search results, and once it reaches a certain level they start sending out e-mails to their users about it. The e-mails also contain a "Discover petitions promoted by Change.org users" list at the end, in which your petition might appear if even more people chip in.

I am willing to sign, but them asking me for $8 was a bit much.
change.org has a nice racket going. They skim off each donation.
The betting windows are open as to whose petition ultimately accrues more signatures. We're up to 7.
Also, not to overly nitpick, but it seems like half the websites on the web are asking people for "a cup of coffee".
Where I come from, a cup of coffee is not $8 or even $5. I suppose if you're ordering the absurdly expensive stuff from Starbucks, but if you're doing that...

Re: Molly White - GW - Epik - $200 million dollar lawsuit
Hmm... I've always been under the impression that Change.org keeps all the money, but I've never actually started a petition. They have an FAQ, but it doesn't just come right out and explicitly say "we keep all the money for ourselves." Still, I'm about 90% sure that's what they do.
Mind you, I'm not saying they're a scam, but I can see how some might come to that conclusion, given the wording they use on those "do you want to chip in" pages.

Let's do some good!
I will pledge, if this tasty, tasty petition gets at least 20 signatures, to donate a US dollar for each signature to a food bank (donation up to $50) plus a bonus of $20 if it ends up with more signatures than the non-chocolate petition.
Which food bank will be chosen by GorillaWarfare if she wishes to play a role, otherwise chosen by a vote between Tim, Jake, and myself.
Matching donations welcomed. At the end, make your donations and send me the electronic receipt so I can verify, and I will send mine to Tim (please obscure any identifying information).

This episode's moronic and pathetic nastiness suggests that we may have found an account of Devin Nunes (T-H-L).

My petition achieved 20 signatures, and beat the other petition into oblivion.
I am on the hook for $40
Tim pledged $10, and I am calling the contest over.
Now we pick the food bank. I will ask GorillaWarfare if she has any preference first, but if not, we'll go with Tim's choice in Mississippi.
