Hmm, interesting. Thanks. He doesn't seem to mention which early ED user he was.

Even more "interesting", there is a Wikipedia article Emmett Rensin (T-H-L). Created in January by an SPA that did nothing else.

That is Emmett Rensin (T-H-L) ...not Emmett Rensin (T-C-L).

Also, he writes that he started the article "Chronic Troll Syndrome" over there, if so he is https://encyclopediadramatica.es/User:Unknown (who has some pictures of other EDrs on his user-page)

I'll be damned. One of the photos features Hipcrime, aka a WO user.

Info courtesy of persons unknown:
The article was created 26 November 2005, by "Primenumbers", a .com user. When .ch/.se/.es formed, most articles were created by scraping Google and other methods which lost the histories. For the article mentioned, a history is available at archive.org: link

This reveals that the article was created by .com user "Primenumbers", whose userpage (link) doesn't reveal much. His contributions list as of June 2007 shows his last contribution was December 2006 (and that he had 21 contribs as of then). link

We have a small community of ED, 4chan, Reddit, and even one or two GNAA members here at WO. Gives us some needed grey hat talent.

No. The editors are the underclass. We are the outcast. The unclean. The untouchables.

Fuck 'em. We have the guns.

Excellent long read, well worth the time. So I'm a few years late to the party...

I also read that article a long time ago and found it useful. I once mentioned the author, Emmett Rensin, and this article in another context.

Btw, Rensin also wrote a long article for Vox on MRAs, Gamergate etc.

Are you aware of any trolls who are paying for stuff and then they proceed to leak it online in order to cause distress?

https://bonuslevelgamingsite.wordpress. ... ed-online/
https://www.kotaku.com.au/2017/11/magic ... arassment/

This is where piracy and outright malicious trolling intersect, and there isn't a clear solution in sight. One user can pay for content and then it may end up somewhere else on the net, with different reasons behind such actions.
