Photobucket no longer suppoting free accounts

Unread post by tarantino » Sun Jun 25, 2023 12:00 am

There are hundreds of embedded images linking to photobucket on this forum that will probably soon disappear into the ether, just like what happened to webcite.

A lot of them are watermarked reaction images... some are archive links... I'm not sure they're worth the effort to rescue. Further analysis and a collection of URLs that seem worthwhile might be in order.

I mean, it's not an impossible number if we split the work.

They have been threatening me for a while that my account will be closed due to inactivity, but so far they haven't provided a specific deadline for this... I guess they're hoping that their daily reminders will prompt me to sign up for a paid account

I got an email today. I probably haven't used it in ten years, though.

Photobucket , the popular image and media hosting service, has started sending cancellation emails to its free users. The company informs users that it will no longer support free subscriptions, resulting in the deactivation of their accounts.

Photobucket changed its strategy in May 2018 by introducing cheaper plans starting at $1.99 per month and temporarily restoring hosted images for free users.
