My guess is Jimbo sought them out. The BBC's Maida Vale studios are only a mile or two from Wikimedia UK, so I would imagine Jimbo goes there a lot, just out of habit.

I guess you could include the point about there not being a large number of American social-media figures living in London at the moment... at least they didn't invite him inside the building. I suspect they see him as too much of a "security risk."

Before this I thought the new and improved Yahoo with Nutrasweet was making a mistake.
Now I know it is.
