That thread is golden.
Link to the original twitter status:
One of the few recorded times that I've agreed with Oliver "ThroatPuncher' Keyes.

.@GuyKawasaki oh THAT'S what we were doing wrong! We were meant to drop SUBTLE hints, not come to the board directly and honestly!
Oliver Keyes @quominus 2h2 hours ago
.@GuyKawasaki I'm sorry we fucked up so much by being honest about how miserable we were at the org you have a fiduciary responsibility for.
Oliver Keyes @quominus 2h2 hours ago
.@GuyKawasaki TY for teaching me how to not have a load of employees quit.
Everyone should see what an empty-shirt blowhard Guy Kawasaki is.
They may start to recognize similar traits in Jimbo at some point.
Hello, John. John, hello. You're the one soul I would come up here to collect myself.

I am really glad to see the community standing up and coming together to clean house. Unfortunately that does not mean the replacements for these do nothings will be any better...

One twitter post is not enough to establish that Kawasaki is a fraud, and I question whether anyone should listen to Keyes at this point. Wikimedia is not a normal corp environment and the hazards faced by a board member (or director) at Wikimedia are unusually varied and complex. The board understood that Lila needed guidance and got her a mentor. Though that didn't work out, the move suggests they weren't asleep and were actively trying to sort out the mess.

I think 'fraud' is a bit rough. 'Empty shirt' and 'huckster' would be more apt.

What's he done for any of the companies where he's been on their board?
The Kim Kardashian of Silicon Valley. Famous for being famous.

Kawasaki does have
executive hair, and he is a useful counter-example against stereotypes of Asian-Americans as hard-working and competent.

Guy Kawasaki has really launched himself into a new area of success. Just take a listen to some of these personalized Cameos that he's been paid to leave for people he doesn't know, but who he feels should hear his "in a previous life" resume, nonetheless!

A fitting end to the most overrated person since Judas Iscariot won the best disciple award.
