Yep, here we go..
Sometimes you need the right person to be in the right place at the right time. The fact that it has stuck without anyone unblocking is amazing.
Edit: Even was brought up by an IP and dropped. (and brought up multiple times actually...).

I swear I remember something there here was discussing Kintetsu, Catfish Jim saw it, and well, you see the block reason. But for the life of me I can't find that thread.

Why do I have "Super Mario" effect screaming in my brain right now? I can point to at least three other pairs/groups of people who were blocked for lesser evidence than this.

Re: Procedural community desysop proposal
I wonder why any proposal involving disciplining admins always have disproportionate admin opposition...
Current tallies:
Admins 6-5 in favor
Editors 7-1 in favor
You would think if admins were just like the community they were part of, you'd see similar percentages support/opposition.

Re: Andy Mabbett: Wikipedian in residence
He works as a journalist and he's authored several books on Pink Floyd. He's a fan boy is all. I updated Andy's Wikipedia page The Amazing Pudding to figure out his credentials. They are slim pickings. And he's not a great Wikipedia editor by any stretch. Mabbett seems well liked (enough) to be sup...

Re: Ricky81682 apparently has been sock puppeting
I've never even heard of this editor, so I am suspecting that he or she was not an influential player. Interesting as he was an admin frequently chiming in on ANI and AE requests. It's hard to pinpoint any defining moment but just present quite a bit. I've never even heard of this editor, so I am s...

Ricky81682 apparently has been sock puppeting
Ricky81682 (T-C-L) just got nailed for sockpuppetry. Interesting way to go out after 11 years, especially as he has come across as a hard-ass to those who've puppeted in the past. It seems the powers that be found out sometime in early September as that's when ArbCom first pinged him.

That applies to things they create/change after they have been blocked.
With that said, let the process work itself out. Foaming at the mouth only hurts what needs to be done to remedy this issue.

I'd rather not be in a place to even be put on that site but in my mind, what they are doing is tantamount to extortion. I am not a lawyer so I can't provided relevant commentary.

Re: How did you celebrate St. Paddy's Day Eve?
The fact that site allows comments is a prime example of what is wrong with society. How do you feel about a multi-count felon becoming Chief Operating Officer of a charity that runs one of the world's top 10 websites? I personally would not hire such a person as it shows poor judgement on her part...

I believe one of the arbiters called it the "Super Mario Situation". He or she was talking sense at the time and said if you violate a rule that would get a user blocked, why wouldn't an admin be blocked the same instead of being demoted.

Thanks for the reply guys. I saw the article posted at another forum (humorous poke at "which one of yall are shills..") and after reading it and the content, it sounded dubious yet all too familiar. I missed the myspace part (though it is still alive and in zombie form...).

...how many in the I-P debate are employed by companies described in this article.
The tactics sound all too familiar.
Note: Not sure of the veracity of that article but reading it really hit close to what I've witnessed on WP over numerous topics but especially the I-P debacle.

The points being, if you don't like what someone is doing, invent/modify a rule and accuse them of breaking it.
